Cooladerra Farm - Prima Extra Virgin Olive Oil

In-store tasting: Saturday 26 & Sunday 27 May

23rd May 2018 | New Arrivals

Prima Extra Virgin Olive Oil is the first picked and pressed fruit of each year’s harvest.  Prima has a sweet fruity aroma with clean grassy and herbal flavours followed by a lingering peppery finish. This vibrant Extra Virgin Olive Oil is full of health benefits including antioxidants called polyphenols. Grown in the Great Southern region, this limited release olive oil has an intense freshness and flavour that will make both your palate and heart sing.

The fruit is picked, pressed, bottled and then delivered to the shelves of Boatshed Market within 48 hours so you can experience the amazing aromas and flavours of the first harvested, Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Cooladerra Farm Grove, Frankland River in 2018.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil is the juice of fresh olives. Like most natural fruit juices, its flavour, aroma and health properties begin to deteriorate over time and when exposed to air and light.  When purchasing olive oil, it is best to purchase oil that has at least a 2 year shelf life, ideally as close to harvest as possible.  Prima Extra Virgin Olive Oil is brought to you directly from the grove, bursting with freshness and those healthy properties.

Prima Extra Virgin Olive Oil, delicious drizzled over a Caprese salad, would make your home made pesto explode with flavour or enjoy, as is, with some fresh, crusty ciabatta bread.

Poli Marconi 46

Artisanally Distilled Italian Gin

16th May 2018 | New Arrivals

Poli Marconi 46 Gin is an Italian Gin made in the Veneto region of Italy.

Poli are most famous as artisan producers of Grappa. The distillery was founded in 1898 by GioBatta Poli and is located in located in Schiavon, near Bassano del Grappa, in the heart of Veneto. They also have a Grappa Museum in Bassano del Grappa. The company has always produced a range of grappa, brandies and liqueurs to which can be added this fantastic gin.

Poli Marconi 46 Gin is distilled by Jocopi Poli in small batched in Poli’s Crysopea still. The Crysopea still is a truly innovative double boiler vacuum still developed with Poli and the Experimental Centre of the San Michele all’Adige Agricultural Institute. The project began in 2003. As far as I understand it, the vacuum part of the still allows the distillation of the alcohol to take place an a lower temperature than normal which means that more fruity and floral components of the distillate are retained.  The Crysopea still was bought into service in 2015.

The unique identity of Poli Marconi 46 Gin, comes from the botanicals. These are carefully selected and inspired by the Asiago plateau in the north of Veneto where the Poli family comes from. The botanicals include juniper berries (naturally), muscat grapes, cardamon, mint, cirmolo (Pinus cembra or the Swiss Pine), creeping pine (Pinus Mugo or dwarf mountainpine) and coriander. Seven botanicals in total.

Why is it called Marconi 46 Gin? Well, it is named after the Italian inventor Guglielmo Marconi, one of the pioneers of radio transmission, it is bottled at 46% abv and the distillery is located at 46 Marconi Street in Schiavon.

A very stylish, dry gin.
