Alegre y Valgañón

Clarete Garnacha/Viura 2016

Oscar Alegre and Eva Valganon are focused on making wine that expresses the earth and air with minimal intervention. Not strictly speaking a rose - a Clarete is the nearly long lost favourite style of blush wines from Rioja and Ribera del Duero in Spain. Made by co-maceration of white Viura with red Garnacha, it is a very pale pink and dry but with fantastic flavour and texture that is perfect for seafood.

Si Vintners

'Lello' 2016

Sarah and Iwo are all about natural wines. They've been using organic and biodynamic techniques since they took over the 1978 Halcyon vineyard in Margaret River. Lello is a skin contact fermentation. The wine is bottled unfiltered and unfined, incredibly juicy fresh and Moorish – the tiny allocation wont last.

Rieslingfreak

Riesling No.3 2017

John Hughes grew up on vineyards and has always had a love affair with Riesling. “I earned the nickname ‘Riesling Freak’ during my university days, as if was always my beverage of choice. My love of this grape and its enormous diversity of styles has never waned, so when I started by own label, there was really only one thing I could call it.” He is touting the 2017 as the Riesling vintage of the century - this might be the best value white for spring you can find!

Ochota Barrels

The Price of Silence Gamay 2017

Taras and Amber Ochota have made another great Gamay from Adelaide Hills fruit. With only 850 bottles produced in 2017, it wont last much longer than spring. A great wine, served best with a slight chill -one of our favourite Australian Gamays!

Muhr-Van Der Niepoort

Cuvée vom Berg Blaufränkisch and Syrah

Organic farming practices, wild yeast fermentation, and gentle maceration in large wooden fermenters without using any mechanical tools. During the wine’s two years of maturation, only one soutirage is done – for the rest of the time, the wine just matures slowly. The result is an impressive wine, with very seductive fruit, finesse and balanced acidity. A fantastic gluggable wine that can look even better on day two or three.
