our host for the evening. Besides working as wine sales representative for Melbourne-based Eurocentric Wine Imports company Christian is the head Sommelier running the wine program at Rockpool Bar & Grill in Perth.
In this special line-up, guests will enjoy four different cuvées produced by Etienne Calsac alongside shucked Australian Oysters and French fries.

Hand-harvested from selected blocks at the Te Muna Vineyard in Martinborough, this Pinot Noir exudes mouth-filling fresh red fruit flavours. Aromatic cherry and dried herb on the nose meld with subtle oak and notes of chocolate and spice on the palate. A vibrant wine with velvety tannins that finishes savoury and dry, making this wine instantly appealing. The perfect Spring Pinot!

The Bizarre Love Triangle is an idea, a blend based on the Gentil aromatic blends of Alsace in France, where it is allowed to blend only Riesling, Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer. These are aromatic spicy delicious wines with slippery and slatey textures, great chilled for warm weather and approachable as young wines. The 2020 BLT is a more textural Pinot Gris driven style with slate, mineral, ginger and underlying rose petal notes. The palate is even and long with pithy textural elements all bound in the end by soft acidity. A wine of subtlety and style with great length, don’t serve too cold….Great with cheese, dumplings or whitebait
Open to taste all weekend in the Loft! Ben will be making cocktails using the liquer, locally made Whipper Snapper Upshot whiksy. cloudy apple juice and fresh lemon.
Vedrenne Le Birlou is an apple and chestnut liqueur - the divine nectar of the Auvergne Gods which superbly blends the two! A stunning perfume offers a merry go round of aromas from stewed apples, cinnamon, nutmeg to roast chestnut. The creamy entry leads into a sweet, concentrated profile; flavours of stewed apple, cinnamon and chestnut are delivered with an exceptionally soft, silky, very gently warming mouthfeel. The finish is clean and with appropriate acidity to avoid being overly sweet.

Young red wine from La Rioja made from Tempranillo and Viura produced through Carbonic maceration. This fresh and fragrant wine is a blend of Tempranillo and Viura and has plenty of ripe red fruit, with notes of flowers and aromatic herbs underpinned by some mineral remembrances and lactic touches. Having a very good acidity, crunchy tannins and a medium finish with remembrances of wild strawberries, blackberry yoghurt and some mineral undertones. Perfect on its own or tapas!

Get hands-on in this immersive masterclass with winemaker Nic Peterkin of L.A.S Vino! Join us on Wednesday, December 2nd for this playful and interactive session that combines tasting and crafting unique blends, as well being guided though Nic’s hand-picked selection from the L.A.S Vino range.
This one-off class will feature L.A.S Vino farmhouse cider, a preview tasting of the Australian Wild Ale Barrel #2 (not yet released), the famous L.A.S Vino Flower Ferments and a blending session of the 2020 Albino PNO. This superb line-up will be complemented by our mouth-watering in-house Moreton Bay Bug brioche rolls.

On arrival you’ll be greeted with a gorgeous West Australian sparkling wine and house made canapés. During this creative class you’ll be shown how to make a modern, timeless and elegant wreath which you’ll be able to take home with you after the class. Our special fruit mince pies will have your mouth watering during the workshop, which is complemented with our festive sparkling wine.

Natasha Wilkes and Chiara Comer are our passionate duo leading the floristry team at the Boatshed Market. Both Natasha and Chiara possess incredible talent, which has seen them both run their own successful floristry businesses. Their training spans from the Uk to Australia, not to mention includes training under a German Master of Floristry! With an impressive 45 years of experience combined, The Boatshed is fortunate to have these two experts leading this one-off class and our in-house Floristry team.

On Saturday the 31st of October we’re bringing the sounds and tastes of Latin America to the Boatshed Market! Join us for this colourful family event as we celebrate our Latin influences with festive food, authentic Mexican spirits, live DJ sounds and face painting! Gianni Monti from Mextrade will be taking you through a tequila, mezcal, gin and rum tasting. Our chefs will be cooking up authentic, traditional Mexican burritos and tacos. We will have our famous house-made salsa and guacamole with traditional corn chips from Mexico out for tasting!

This unique masterclass showcases a special selection of premium Mexican exports; Tequila and Mezcal. Mextrade’s Gianni Monti is our guest host for the evening and he’ll be guiding you through the characterful and sophisticated top-shelf spirits, as you sip and savour them at your leisure. You’ll be able to taste and experience the difference between Tequila and Mezcal, by comparing two carefully chosen examples of each. All will be enjoyed alongside our house-made Mexican street food.
Born and raised in Mexico City, Gianni has always been passionate about Mexican culture and has enthusiastically been educating and spreading the word throughout his decade here in Perth. Gianni takes pride in sharing his knowledge on Mexican gastronomy as well as the rich traditions of Mexican alcoholic beverages. He is the West Australian representative for Mextrade, a bespoke Mexican importer and distributor that was established in Australia 7 years ago. Mextrade’s mission is to bring in Mexican distillates of the highest quality and share the stories and knowledge of those who have been crafting these artisan spirits for generations.

Mazza’s 2020 vintage of Bastardo Rosé has just been bottled and we’re excited to be launching it here in the Wine Loft! Join us on Saturday, October 14th to discover why this delicious rose is highly rated by renowned wine critic James Halliday.
As with all of their anticipated Bastardo rose vintages, Mazza has crafted an excellent, crisp, dry rosé with beautiful aromatics and a delicious, savoury palate. It will be launched alongside the sounds of smooth jazz and canapes.
Don’t let the name fool you! Bastardo Rosé is named after the grape from which it’s made; a Portuguese variety called Bastardo traditionally used to make Port.
Mazza Wines is a family-run vineyard located near Donnybrook and is owned and run by David and Anne Mazza, who are extremely passionate about the varieties they have chosen to grow. They’re one of the few growers in Australia of this variety and they believe they’re the only vineyard that makes a Bastardo Rosé in Australia.

Yakitori is a wide category of bite size food on skewers that is grilled over charcoal. Our Japanese chefs will be cooking vegetables, pork, beef and more on open Yakitori barbeque’s in the courtyard. Yakatori is best accompanied by sake – join us for a complimentary sake, Japanese beer and fruit liqueur tasting. We are very excited to have Taiko On, a dynamic troupe of traditional Japanese drummers who will be performing throughout our Yakitori & Sake tasting!

Join us for a very special evening with Cape Mentelle’s winemaker Ben Cane. Ben will be showcasing a selection of Cape Mentelle’s current releases, back vintages and a rare preview of a wine yet to be released. As one of Margaret River’s ‘founding five’ wineries, Cape Mentelle needs no introduction. They have pioneered many of the region’s renowned wine styles and are a benchmark for the quality of the region’s wines.
Ben Cane joined Cape Mentelle in December 2018, combining hands-on winemaking with travel to share the winery’s ethos of exploration and exceptional wines with the world. Ben’s 22 years of experience prior to joining Cape Mentelle, saw him making wine at prestigious wineries in Australia, California, France and Italy. He now calls Margaret River home and considers it to be one of the most significant wine regions in Australia.
