Due to the popularity of our last Cheese and Wine Pairing Masterclass we have decided to do it again, this time focusing on French wine and cheese! Five premium French wines will be perfectly matched with five delicious French cheeses as we take a journey through a region that has basked in the highest reputation of wine and food production for hundreds of years. We have two of the finest Parmigiano Reggiano wheels to come out of Italy! Join us up on the Wine Loft deck and experience the time honored tradition of cracking wheels of the most traditional of all Italian cheeses. This is a flavourful experience, full of stories and tradition! We will be cracking Cravero Parmigiano Reggiano & Vacche Rosse Parmigiano Reggiano - two fantastic cheeses. we are joined by sommelier Andrew Moody who has picked 4 delicious Italian reds from the same region as the Parmigiano which will be open to taste!

Ruinart is the oldest House in Champagne, exclusively producing Champagne since 1729! Interestingly, it's long and rich history includes a strong affiliation with the arts. The distinct taste of Ruinart Champagne is in part due to bottle ageing in historic chalk cellars that are 38m deep and 8km long! Today Ruinart is owned by Moet Hennessey Louis Vuitton.

Swinney Vineyards is located in the Frankland River region of the Great Southern. The vineyards are part of a remote and isolated 2,500  hectare grape growing and grazing property which has been the home of the Swinney family for four generations. Damian North began his wine journey working as a sommelier in some of Sydney's top restaurants. After working as a winemaker in the Yarra Valley he moved to Oregon to make nothing but Pinot Noir for 3 years! His return to Australia saw him become head winemaker at Leeuwin Estate for 5 years before starting his own label, Journey Wines.

The Rhône Valley is one of the most historic regions for wine production, with evidence of winemaking going back over 2500 years! Join sommelier Maurice Hovens as he breaks down the Rhone Valley blend ‘GSM’ citing both international and local examples.

Part 1: Introduction of two main grapes, their origins and differences
(1) Ferrand Cotes du Rhone 'Mistral' (Grenache dominant)
(2) Nick O'Leary Shiraz 

Part 2: Introduction of Mourvedre, the role of each grape variety in a blend, and the difference between a blend dominated by respectively Mourvedre and Grenache
