This Saturday we’re joined in the Wine Loft by bespoke winemakers and brothers, Ruben and Phil James of Felix Caspar Wines. Their small batch Margaret River wines have garnered a following across Australia and are loved for their drinkability, more-ish nature and their traditional and hands on approach to wine making. Working with the highest quality fruit from farmers who respect the land, their wines are bursting with character and a playful pairing to match our offerings at our Smoke, Fire & Hot Sauce Festival!

Join us in the courtyard for a celebration of smoke, fire and a whole lot of hot sauce! Nothing beats meat cooked over coals – especially when flavours of hickory, bourbon & maple are involved. Our chefs will be serving up hearty plates of smoked beef brisket, sticky ribs, bbq chicken and a whole lot more! Don’t forget your favourite hot sauce, a side of pickles, corn bread and slaw alongside a refreshing Dingo lager. We have a significant range of BBQ sauce, hot sauce & pickles as well as locally made hibachi bbq’s and Japanese charcoal available to purchase on the day.

This weekend in the Wine Loft, we are turning our focus to the Mornington Peninsula, one of Australia’s premier Pinot Noir regions. It’s unique maritime climate, diverse combination of soil (including fertile volcanic soil) and high concentration of talented wine makers has all contributed to the region gaining both national and international recognition. Mornington Pinots are known for their purity, concentration of fruit and their silky, soft tannins. We're excited to open 3 expressions of these wines for complimentary tasting all weekend!

Liam Carmody’s Lonely Shore Pinot Noir embodies cool climate West Australian Pinot Noir and is celebrated for its unique characteristics and elegant flair. Each vintage is met with fresh anticipation, and every year outdoes the last. Focusing only on Pinot Noir from Manjimup, it’s known for being serious, structured and loved for the harmonious balance between its savoury elements and fruitful characteristics. Despite its youth, (with 2022 marking its 5th vintage), it has garnered glowing reviews and ratings every year from the likes of Halliday, The Wine Companion and The Wine Front. Not surprisingly, Lonely Shore was also awarded the 2021 Western Australian Winner in the Australian Pinot Noir Challenge for the 2020 release. This weekend we are thrilled to share Lonely Shore’s 2022 Pinot Noir with you, which will be open to taste all weekend.

This weekend, we're excited to showcase three outstanding small-batch, back vintage Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignons, each with its own unique character and flair. We’ll be exploring the exceptional quality of Margaret River's 2017, 2018, and 2019 vintages. Domaine Naturaliste’s 2017 Rebus Cabernet Sauvignon, crafted by the lauded Bruce Dukes himself; the luscious Cape Grace 2018 Cabernet, created by the talented Dylan Arvidson; and top it off with the highly awarded Thompson Estate's 2019 Cabernet. Savour the unique characteristics of each vintage, showcasing the best of Margaret River's renowned wine-making expertise.

The 2017 vintage required constant vigilance in the vineyards, resulting in outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon with deep and concentrated fruit. The 2018 vintage was characterized by beautiful clarity, purity of fruit, and high natural acidity, producing expressive wines with elegance and power. The 2019 vintage was hailed as a great year for red varieties, with vine canopies in great shape and a late but exceptional harvest.

We are excited to be hosting Nic in the Wine Loft this Wednesday, 14 June 2023 from 4 pm for a tasting of his 2022 wines. Pop up for a tasting, a glass or enjoy a flight of L.A.S Vino wines that have been perfectly paired with cheese.

Nic Peterkin was born with pedigree winemaking blood in his veins, but his own ingenuity and hard work have got him to where L.A.S. Vino is today. He has consistently produced wines that push boundaries and show a penchant for his calculated, out-of-the-box style of thinking. Nic throws himself at wine with freshness and a vivacity and a curiosity that are catching. These wines have a tendency to extract unexpected descriptors, flavours and experiences all the while portraying a classicism and accuracy of site that make them so brilliant.
