Comtesse du Barry Terrines and Rillettes have been prepared according to French traditional recipes, using the freshest and highest quality ingredients. In celebration of Bastille Day we will be having French Raclette tasting alongside delicious French wine. Milledome is a Raclette cheese that is made by Fromagerie Du Livradois - it is creamier and stronger than the Swiss Emmi Raclette. This is a tasting not to be missed!

Join us in the Loft to celebrate Bastille Day and all things French! We have selected some of our favourite French wine which will be available to taste alongside the French raclette cheese, Milledome! We will be joined by Hubert from Comtesse Du Barry who will have his range of delicious terrine, foie gras & rillettes out to sample. The tasting will be accompanied by the sounds of Danilo who will be playing the piano accordion - transporting us to the French countryside!

Tempranillo is a famous Spanish grape variety that is becoming popular in Australia. Discovering that it grows particularly well in the Geographe region. This vibrant medium-bodied wine has an aroma of dark cherries and gentle spices. The palate is loaded with rich, plummy fruit, smooth tannins, and pleasing complexity. They have been producing a single varietal Tempranillo every year since 2004. Pop up to the Loft and have a taste!

We are so excited to host Master Distiller, (and passionate scientist), Oliver Kitson, in this collaborative and colourful masterclass. You’ll be greeted with a signature cocktail on arrival, before making your way through the signature range of spirits. As Oliver guides you through his distillation process, and imparts wisdom drawn from his fascinating experience, you’ll create your own gin and tonics with the Aromatic and Full Bodied gins. To top it off, these gins will be enjoyed alongside individual seafood platters, which have been thoughtfully paired to each beverage.


Oliver Kitson started his career in the UK as a brewer and quality manager at Purity Brewing. After several years making beer he switched to crafting spirits and became Head of Production at London’s prestigious Sipsmith where he was responsible for the full scope of liquid production at the company. Oliver’s journey has now taken him to our very own doorstep, as Master Distiller at the grape-to-glass distillery, Republic of Fremantle. Enjoying the opportunity to explore new flavour profiles, Oliver has drawn on his vast experience and knowledge to craft a world-class range of spirits that are uniquely Western Australian from scratch. A passionate scientist, Oliver originally set out to be a pharmacologist completing an honours degree in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Edinburgh before achieving a Masters in Brewing and Distilling at Heriot Watt University. He is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a mentor for brewing and distilling students.
