This weekend we are featuring an immensely delicious pinot noir from Small Island Wines of Tasmania’s Saltwater River. We will have this wine available for complimentary tasting and by the glass in the Wine Loft all weekend. The Black Label is quintessential Tasmanian pinot noir with hints of cassis, dark cherries, cured meat and a dash of oak, this wine has a lot going on. Perfect for any dinner party or a special night in. A cooler year helped to maintain amazing acidity while allowing fruit complexity to develop. The long growing season has really added wonderful character to this classic Tasmanian wine.

Save the date for an exclusive Black Truffle evening at the Wine Loft Bar on Wednesday June 26 2024, from 4 pm to 8 pm. Enjoy new season, locally grown Manjimup Black Truffles, with unique truffle cheeses hand-selected by our cheesemonger Cindy. Guest chef Nino D’Alo from La Delizia will prepare Black Truffle Casarecce with mushroom confit and freshly shaved truffle, which will be available for complimentary tasting. Our Wine Loft team have selected the delicious Small Island 2023 Black Label Pinot Noir, which pairs perfectly with truffles.

We now have stock of locally grown, new season Manjimup Black Truffles. The richness of the Manjimup soils and the cool climate is ideally suited to grow premium black truffles. Our Butchers use these new season, fresh black truffles and free range pork from WA owned Plantagenet Pork in a time honoured, traditional German recipe to create a sensational Brätwurst that is full of flavour. Join us in The Butchery this Saturday, 22 June from 10 AM for a live cooking demo and complimentary tasting of our delicious, seasonal Brätwurst. Due to the short truffle season, these sausages will only be available from our butchery for a limited time.

To celebrate the winter solstice we have distributor Adam Sharpe to share a range of Cullen Wines with us on Friday, 21 June from 4 PM - 6 PM. Discover the flavours and character of these wines that are biodynamically grown under the Margaret River moonlight. We will taste Cullen’s ‘Grace Madeline’ Semillon Sauvignon Blanc, ’East Block’ Malbec/Petit Verdot, and the classic Cullen Cabernet Merlot; or you can stay for a while and enjoy each of these by the glass.

This unique dessert is a crustless cheesecake with a burnt exterior crust that has a delicious caramel note. The filling of this basque burnt cheesecake is mousse-like, which makes it absolutely irresistible. The rustic-looking sides and the slightly sunken center are a part of its charm, our burnt cheesecake is like a combination of an airy souffle and crème brulée, making it difficult to stop at just a single slice!

La Boqueria Wild Boar & Truffle Salami, available for complimentary tasting in The Butchery this Saturday, 15 June! This limited edition salami is produced using wild boar, truffles, rehydrated wild mushrooms and red wine, all sourced from NSW and combined using an old Spanish recipe. It has a semi-firm texture with sweet mushroom and truffle flavour.

Join us in the Loft this Thursday, 6 June from 6 PM for an evening with Marco Arrigoni, President of Arrigoni Fromaggi and fourth generation cheese specialist from Lombardy, Italy. Enjoy a complimentary glass of red or white wine from neighbouring wine region, Veneto, as Marco shares four cheeses with us, including two varieties of Gorgonzola, a Stracchino and a Taleggio Tradizionale DOP. Learn about the origins of these cheeses and how best to enjoy them. Select your favourite cheeses to enjoy on a cheese board alongside a glass of wine or purchase the cheeses from our Fromagerie to take home with you.

We will have the 2021 Babo Chianti DOCG is open to taste or available by the glass all long weekend. This wine pairs perfectly with winter slow roast cooking this long weekend. Babo wines are made by Australian winemaker Justin Bubb, who splits his time between Tuscany and Tasmania. This wine has a lively, vibrant, and expressive nature with juicy dark berries, subtle earthiness, tangy red fruits and that classic Sangiovese finish.

This weekend we are offering a tasting of the range of Barossa Fine Foods the Premier artisan smallgoods maker in Adelaide! Barossa Fine Foods sources high quality meats and ingredients from some of the best farmers in South Australia & regional Australia. They have long and close relationships directly with the farmers and are always looking to provide the best the state has to offer. Available to taste this weekend will be the Baby Bung Fritz, the Rookwurst and the Polish Sausage.
Variety in Focus, Gamay
Meadowbank 2023 & Pierre-Marie Chermette 2022

This weekend, open to taste and available by the glass the Wine Loft will be pouring two Gamays, the perfect variety for Pinot Noir lovers who are in need of something different that is a little less serious but also delivers flavour in abundance without compromise. Meadowbank’s 2023 Gamay from Tasmania exceeds all expectations with juicy, succulent flavours and is completely seductive from start to finish. Alongside the Meadowbank, we will be pouring a classic Beaujolais from Pierre-Marie Chermette, the winemaking has remained unchanged for decades and rightly so, with a light to medium body, wild plum and violet florals this wine is best described as “Love at first sip” with its vibrant, tangy berries, cherrystone fruit and morish finish. Distributor Jo Cammack will be hosting the Wine Loft tasting this Friday the 24th of May from 4-6pm.
