The Lingot d’Argental inherited its creaminess and ease of cutting from the Pavè d’Affinois. This cheese is produced near the Lyon region of France with milk which has undertaken a specific miro-filtration method to yield a silkier, creamier texture. It has a smooth, consistent paste and well rounded, buttery flavour. Its texture is especially mild and smooth, comparable to a triple-cream cheese. The flavour is fresh, delicate and melting. This cheese is a crowd pleaser!

This Saturday we're joined by the Republic of Fremantle, who will be sharing their sophisticated and smooth-as-silk small-batch spirits in the Loft!

The Republic of Fremantle are an urban craft Distillery in the heart of Fremantle, who opened their doors in December 2020. Despite their youthful presence on the scene, their craftmanship and attention to delivering quality has resulted in world-class spirits. Few Distilleries in the world to craft spirits from scratch using innovative grape to glass distilling methods, and they proudly source wine from West Australian vineyards and carefully double distil in their custom-built copper still.

We're delighted to be sharing their flagship range with you this Saturday, the 10th of April between 11 am and 2 pm.

Jamón Ibérico

Jamón Ibérico is hailed as the crème de la crème of ham. The black Iberian pig, which is native to this region, is responsible for the tasty meat. These free-range Iberian pigs wander hilly, fields of oak and cork trees enjoying acorn-rich diets. From smell to taste, the acorns are the defining quality of a top-grade Jamón Ibérico. In addition to lending the prized pork its unique aromatic combination of sweetness, nuttiness, and earthiness, the oleic acid in these acorns makes for the soft, melty fat that makes Jamón Ibérico so divine. We will be tasting this exquisite ham in The Butchery this weekend - it makes for a luxurious addition to any grazing board!

This wine has all you could ask for, with strong cherry fruit, texture, structure and more. Best enjoyed with Wood Fired pizza in the company of good friends. Rhubarb and strawberry with hints of pepper and cinnamon spice on the nose. The palate exhibits finesse, fine grained tannins, balanced acidity and exceptional length.

Woodlands’ flagship estate-grown chardonnay. It is remarkably complex and charming for such a modestly priced Margaret River chardy, with creamy lees and refined fruit aromas. Oak is almost invisible. Intense and elegant in the mouth, it has a lip-smacking savoury finish. A totally delicious wine at a great price.

Skigh Wines 'Coda' Grenache 2020 - Skigh McManus has been a winemaker in Margaret River for more than fifteen years. With his eponymous label, Skigh is striking out on his own. There's some serious value to be had in his range and some curios for the more adventurous drinker. He sources quality fruit from some of the premier sub-regions of Margaret River and gets his wines to bottle with minimal intervention. This 2020 Grenache is fun, vibrant, and full of bright fresh fruit with a soft tannin, the perfect lunch wine!

This wine is a staple in the La Violetta range, and it remains one of our favourites.

As AJ explains, "Up is a suffix commonly found in place names in Western Australia’s south-west, meaning 'place of' in the indigenous Noongar dialect. This wine evokes the ancient granitic soils of its place of origin in the hills around Mount Barker."

This is a not-so-classic cool climate Shiraz here, all about perfume and spice and structure. It's as thought-provoking as it is delicious! Few winemakers bring as much creativity and flair to their label as the mercurial Andrew Hoadley. With a mischievous, child-like joy, he has set about crafting La Violetta, one of the most fascinating wine ranges in Western Australia, and indeed, the country. His wines are inspiring, each a creation all of its own. With a mix of single vineyard, single varietal wines and some exotic blends, these some of the most thought-provoking wines in the West.

We are excited to launch our first Masterclass of 2021 featuring none other than the Champagnes of vigneron Etienne Calsac! It is an honour to be working alongside the esteemed Christian Baeppler,
our host for the evening. Besides working as wine sales representative for Melbourne-based Eurocentric Wine Imports company Christian is the head Sommelier running the wine program at Rockpool Bar & Grill in Perth.


In this special line-up, guests will enjoy four different cuvées produced by Etienne Calsac alongside shucked Australian Oysters and French fries.

Hand-harvested from selected blocks at the Te Muna Vineyard in Martinborough, this Pinot Noir exudes mouth-filling fresh red fruit flavours. Aromatic cherry and dried herb on the nose meld with subtle oak and notes of chocolate and spice on the palate. A vibrant wine with velvety tannins that finishes savoury and dry, making this wine instantly appealing. The perfect Spring Pinot!

The Bizarre Love Triangle is an idea, a blend based on the Gentil aromatic blends of Alsace in France, where it is allowed to blend only Riesling, Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer. These are aromatic spicy delicious wines with slippery and slatey textures, great chilled for warm weather and approachable as young wines. The 2020 BLT is a more textural Pinot Gris driven style with slate, mineral, ginger and underlying rose petal notes. The palate is even and long with pithy textural elements all bound in the end by soft acidity. A wine of subtlety and style with great length, don’t serve too cold….Great with cheese, dumplings or whitebait
