Join us in the Courtyard on Saturday, 17 September 2022 for a an authentic Japanese street food experience! Yakimono is a popular Japanese way of cooking food that is enjoyed at traditional festivals and events. Our Japanese chefs will be cooking vegetables, pork, beef and more on open hibachi barbeques in the courtyard. Our Wine Loft team will be featuring popular Japanese Fruit Liqueurs & Shochus alongside Japanese beer. We are very excited to have Taiko On, a dynamic troupe of traditional Japanese drummers who will be performing throughout our Festival!

A winemaker with a playful approach to serious wines, Andrew (“AJ”) Hoadley, will be joining us to pour his chosen drops to ring in Spring. AJ has been producing wines in the Great Southern under his own label, “La Violetta”, since 2008. Each of his bottles, linguistically diverse and colourful as the next, invokes curiosity in both the wine and the maker. With vintages in Beaujolais, Puligny Montrachet, Abruzzo and Piedmont under his belt, he has a bounty of European experience, all of which has influenced his delicious and seriously addictive wines!

The Wine Loft is lucky enough for David & Anne Mazza to open their cellar for us to taste, celebrating their 20th Anniversary since planting their vineyard in 2002! Join us in the Loft to taste the very first vintages of both the Graciano & Tinta Cao from 2007 alongside their 2012 Tempranillo & 2018 Touriga Nacional.

Xanadu Wines Chief Winemaker, Glenn Goodall has taken out the 2023 Halliday Wine Companion Winemaker of the Year award. Now in his 24th year at Xanadu, Glenn and his team have tallied up an unbelievable 339 gold medals and 127 trophies across regional and national wine shows. This weekend we are excited to share with you Xanadu’s 2020 DJL Chardonnay and their 2019 DJL Cabernet Sauvignon, which are open to taste all weekend in the wine Loft.

Join us as we take you on a journey of culinary discovery through the vibrant, mouth-watering world of Spain! We will have cooked paella available and a variety of tastings from some of our best producers! Paella comes alive with the right mix of spices. Paprika adds a sweet, smoky flavour to the paella whilst saffron contributes both colour and taste. These two spices are essential for the perfect Spanish paella! Our wine expert has selected wines from different wine regions of Spain to pair with the delicious paellas being cooked - all open to taste!

The Poliziano Chianti Colli Senesi is a beautiful DOCG red wine from the family-owned Poliziano winery outside of Montepulciano in Tuscany, Italy. Founder Dino Carletti named the winery after the 15th Century poet Angelo Ambrogini who came from Montepulciano and was nicknamed “Poliziano”. Coming from the unusually warm 2020 vintage, this Chianti shows ripe red fruits on the nose with touches of earth and savoury tones. It is generous, vibrant and expressive on the palate with dusty, savoury tannins and gorgeous red berry notes. A lighter Italian Sangiovese red wine and a very versatile food wine!

We are incredibly excited to announce an exclusive dinner where we will be tasting the new vintage Joh Jos Prüm wines! These exceptional Rieslings have captivated the world for decades! The selection of wines explore the differences between the Prüm vineyards, emphasising Wehlener Sonnenuhr and Graacher Himmelreich. Each bracket of wine will is accompanied by a Japanese-infused Yum-Cha dish, prepared by our Japanese and Hong Kongese Chefs.

We have selected some of our favourite French wine which will be available to taste alongside the French raclette cheese, Milledome! We will be joined by Hubert from Comtesse Du Barry who will have his range of delicious terrine, foie gras & rillettes out to sample. The tasting will be accompanied by the sounds of Danilo who will be playing the piano accordion - transporting us to the French countryside!
