Château les Crotes 2020 Rosé

Open to taste in the Loft!

5th Oct 2021 | Tasting & Events

Open to taste in the Loft!
Friday, 1 October 2021 - Sunday, 3 October 2021

Hidden in the hills of Provence, the Château les Crotes is a vineyard rewarded for is wines of pristine quality. This beautiful château dating from the 17th century is situated in a dense forest of pines and oaks, and is surrounded by generously spaced vines on the hills and valley descending towards the city of Lorgues. Left to waste, a passionate investor in 1986 purchased the property and planted 55 hectares of vines on the 270 hectare property. The vineyard and cellars were progressively built up and the château renovated but with other projects in mind, he sold the property to Baron Felix de Luxembourg who continued development to what is now something quite special. This is a very pale rosé with brilliant pale pink reflects and an enticing bouquet of raspberries and citrus fruits. A very fresh, delicate and elegant rosé with a lively attack.

Pharmfarm - Black Barley Tasting

Saturday, 25 September 2021

20th Sep 2021 | Tasting & Events

Meet farmer Roger Duggan in-store this Saturday, 25 September 2021 from 11 am to 1 pm for a complimentary tasting!

Black Barley Australia was founded by Roger Duggan when he sourced 160 grams of ancient grain from University seed banks. In 2016 Roger collaborated with the then Department of Agriculture to expand the volume of seed under quality assurance standards at their research station in Western Australia. Roger Duggan now grow the grain on his family property in New Norcia. Black Barley is a delicious ancient grain that is low GI and contains high amount of protein, fibre, vitamin B6 and phosphorus. It offers a nutty taste and unique texture. The beauty of this grain is that it is hull-less and is the only cereal grain that does not require further post-harvest processing, you just soak and eat or cook from paddock to plate. This is how it maintains its wholegrain health potential, coupled with the environmental benefit of less energy required for growing and processing the final product.

Open to taste all weekend in the Loft!
Friday, 10 September - Sunday 12 September

Love the weight of a Pinot, but the flavour of a Grenache? Look no further! This juicy Grenache underwent whole-berry carbonic maceration before spending some downtime in a mixture of French oak barrels (both old and new) and stainless steel to maintain fruit purity. Candied red fruits, juicy red apple, tart plum, and a touch of garden herbs with gentle, sandy tannins adding depth and intrigue. Delicious and versatile!

Open to tasting in the Loft!

28th Aug 2021 | Tasting & Events

$15 per GLS / $39 RRP
Open Friday, 27 August 2021 - Sunday, 29 Sunday 2021

Ben and Sasha McDonald along with our three kids Archer, Scarlet and the newest little farmer Maxwell. Plus, our two dogs – Bob and Pepper, a few thousand grass-fed sheep and a hand-full of cattle, chooks, ducks and everything in between! Sasha handles the vines and wines from pruning through to bottling. She completed her Viticulture and Oenology degree in 2013 at Curtin University and learnt hands on skills doing vintages at Xanadu, Cullen and Chapel Down in the UK. It was the 2013 vintage at Cullen wines, which instilled her love for minimal intervention, sustainable grape growing and wine making. This Chardonnay is handpicked and wild barrel fermented 100% gin gin clone Chardonnay. With a generous weight and a savoury twist you get notes of melted butter, nashi pear, macadamia, white peach and a gorgeous grapefruit acidity to balance the wine.

Albino Rocca Langhe Nebbiolo Rosso di Rocca 2019 - Weekend Tasting!

Friday, 20 August 2021 - Sunday, 22 August 2021

21st Aug 2021 | Tasting & Events

Open to taste all weekend in the Loft!
Friday, 20 August 2021 - Sunday, 22 August 2021
$35 per bottle

98% Nebbiolo and 2% Cabernet Franc, with the Nebbiolo hailing from a vineyard at Magliano Alfieri--in the foothills of the Roero region--purchased in 2016 (the vines were planted in 1967 and 1998). The Cabernet Franc comes from 20-year-old Estate vines in Barbaresco. Roero's sandy soils gift a lighter, brighter, early-drinking wine compared with the Rocca's Nebbiolo d'Alba. The wine's upbringing (solely in tank) and early bottling (under Stelvin) helps keep to this theme. The 2018 is a wonderfully fresh, vibrant, and delicate expression of Nebbiolo. It's packed with juicy redcurrant, rose petal and cranberry-scented fruit, and offers a class and tension that is terrific for the price. It's lovely to drink now--totally ready and totally delicious!

Durango Mezcal masterclass with Gianni Monti

Wednesday, 25 August 2021 from 6 pm

17th Aug 2021 | Tasting & Events

$65 per person- only 12 tickets available!
Purchase here.

This is one event that Mezcal lovers and aficionados do not want to miss! Mezcal from Durango, is making its grand entrance onto the international stage, showcasing serious quality as well as new and exciting agave varieties. We are excited to be joined by Gianni Monti of Mextrade, who will be guiding you through a special tasting of these exquisite Mezcals, produced by some of Durango’s smaller, most sought-after Vinateros.

The setting of many classic western movies, Durango feels familiar. With dusty roads and endless mountain scapes, the terrain is rough, scattered with giant nopales, yuccas and volcanic rock. The state is known for its wild and abundant Agave Durangensis, known locally as Cenizo (“ash”). Part of this agave’s allure is its ability to create Mezcals that are never exact replicas of one another. You will taste some of the rarest Mezcals from the wild Durango agaves, some of which there are only a couple of bottles that made it to Australia!

Château Peybonhomme-Les-Tours Vin de France ‘L’Atypic’ 2019

Open to taste in the Loft all weekend!

18th Jul 2021 | Tasting & Events

COMPLIMENTARY TASTING
Friday, 16 July - Sunday, 18 July 2021 in the Loft

As the name suggests, the blend is an atypical 60% Malbec and 40% Cabernet Franc--meaning the wine has to carry the Vin de France designation. But who cares, it’s a stunning example of Côtes de Blaye, so blending regulations be damned! This is superb--an intense, ripe, dark cherry and anise spice-noted wine with super-fine tannins. There is excellent depth and intensity and mouth-watering freshness to close. This has fabulous purity of fruit and is incredibly easy to drink.

Pierre-Marie Chermette ‘Griottes’ Beaujolais 2020

Open for complimentary tasting!

17th Jul 2021 | Tasting & Events

COMPLIMENTARY TASTING
Friday, 16 July - Sunday, 18 July 2021 in the Loft

This is a great value young-vine Beaujolais from one of the leading small organic producers in the region. The winemaking here has remained unchanged for decades, the aim is to produce a light-bodied, cherry-fruited red with a ‘reach-for-another-glass charm’. From one of the region’s great addresses, this is a punchy and buoyant red that goes down dangerously easily!
